Meteorite Dial

An Alloy from Outer Space

This is the only Cosmograph Daytona model equipped with a meteorite dial. Meteorites are the cores of exploded asteroids or planets that traverse the solar system before entering Earth’s orbit and falling to the planet due to gravitational pull.

During their drift in space, the cores of meteorites undergo gradual transformations—slowly cooling from a molten state to form extraordinary metallic textures. Rolex designers have harnessed this unique structure to add an exclusive element to select prestigious Rolex timepieces, including this Cosmograph Daytona.

Tachymeter

A High-Performance Chronograph

A signature feature of the watch is its molded tachymeter bezel, capable of measuring average speeds of up to 400 miles or kilometers per hour. The black bezel combines advanced technology with sleek design, evoking the 1965 model fitted with a black plastic crystal bezel.

Crafted using high-tech processes, the Cerachrom ceramic bezel offers numerous advantages: it is corrosion-resistant, scratchproof, and fade-resistant even under UV exposure. In addition to exceptional durability, it ensures optimal readability—its numerals and scales are coated with a thin layer of platinum via Physical Vapour Deposition (PVD) technology, enhancing the clarity of the tachymeter scale. The one-piece Cerachrom bezel also helps secure the crystal to the case and ensures water resistance.

Oysterflex Bracelet

Robust and Reliable

All 18K gold Cosmograph Daytona models with a Cerachrom bezel are paired with an Oysterflex bracelet. This innovative bracelet, developed and patented by Rolex, combines the robustness of a metal bracelet with the comfort of a rubber strap.

The bracelet features two curved, flexible metal blades—one on each side—encased in a high-performance black rubber injection-molded outer layer. For enhanced comfort, it is equipped with a buffer system on the inner side, while the Oysterlock safety clasp prevents accidental opening. The bracelet length can be adjusted via the Rolex Glidelock extension system.

18K Everose Gold

An Exclusive Patent

To preserve the beauty of pink gold timepieces, Rolex developed 18K Everose Gold at its own foundry and secured a patent for this pink alloy.

Launched in 2005, 18K Everose Gold has been used in the creation of pink gold Rolex Oyster timepieces.
